Super Charge Your Life: Weightloss Challenge Update 1

So here we are after one week on the redesign Weight Management program. Both Renee and Wendy lost weight. Yay! They are super excited with their results despite this was their first week and just really trying to figure out what to eat and when to eat it. As with any new program, you have to make it fit within your lifestyle and the demands your life places upon you. For Wendy, we decided she needed to incorporate more vegetables. She and I sat down and reviewed her likes and dislikes of the healthiest food choices as listed on the website (world’s healthiest foods). Listed there as well are ways you can enjoy each food choice as well if you have never tried any of these foods. Renee found she needed to add ½ a packet of Stevia to her shakes. Stevia is an excellent choice because it is a natural sweetener that doesn’t come with the unhealthy baggage of artificial sweeteners and it can help lower your blood pressure. I also gave them the 9 out of 10 rule. What this rule means is that if you eat 5 times a day the 10th one is a “cheat”. A “cheat” is a little treat to reward yourself because if you simply focus on what you cannot eat then you will feel deprived. If you feel deprived you will never make a life long change to a healthier, happier you. I applaud Wendy and Renee for their excellent work and dedication to their health. Below are some of the details of their week:

Renee:
• Lost 5.2 lbs
• Had the flu on Monday so she didn’t begin until Tuesday
• Adding some Stevia to shake made it sweet enough to enjoy it more.
• “Shakes are better to me just shaken not blended”
• Following advice of 9/10: every other day they get a cheat.

Wendy:
• “Feeling Really good”
• Lost 2.8 lbs
• “Having a chicken breast, sweet potato, and broccoli for dinner and one of the shakes for my snacks – today I’m feeling a lot less shaky and more energy.”
• Decided to update the plan add more calories with veggies, fruit and whole grains
• Saturday 1/28/12 Here was her day:
Exercise – Row for 30 minutes, plus run/walk for 30minutes.
Breakfast – shake w/water
Snack – organic popcorn salted 3 cups
Lunch
•Tuna salad with mayo and 1 slice of Klassic crisp bread
Snack
•¼ cup season sticks
•½ an orange
•Sea almonds
Dinner
•Chicken and rice with black beans
•Shake with water with water

If you are on a diet, don't forget to treat yourself once in a while! Without it you will go crazy and get discouraged! So enjoy a (just one) once in a while!

Health Tip: 5 Times A Day is the Way to a Slimmer, Healthier You!
Eat 5 times a day to increase your metabolism, reduce daytime fatigue and lose body fat not body muscle. When you eat small portions you are asking your body to process which kicks in your metabolism and prevents you from getting RAVENOUS! When you are starving you will eat anything as fast as you possible can so make poor choices which can makes you feel sluggish or “stuffed”. Maintaining a constant supply of food in your digestive tract keeps it humming along like a finely tuned engine giving you optimal performance. Then on your 10th food intake, (which occurs every other day at the rate of 5 meals/snacks a day) when you do need a little something sweet or salty you body is ready to process it quickly and efficiently.

Lifepak Nano Vitamins – Increase Your Annual Take Home Pay…Stay Well!

After Tuesday’s introduction to the Super Charge Your Life Challenges I thought I would explain the program and the product that all the Antioxidant Challengers are on – these supplements. This challenge is part of a “Health and Wellness” program at a local business. Businesses across America lose thousands of dollars a year due to employee illness. Being sick and missing work costs the employees as well. As employers tighten their budgets, “paid” sick days are becoming obsolete. Our Antioxidant Challengers work for a local employer who has implemented a health and wellness program to not only increase profits but help his employees improve their health for happier lives. As a NS Distributor, I receive training webinars teaching us more about the products we sell. This webinar is all about my awesome supplements and if you have 40 minutes to spare I highly recommended listening to the science proven results of the product.

Just a few pieces I really think you should listen to:
9:00 in – What the supplements all contain
20-22:00 – How your “score” increases over time
35:00 – instructions on how to take the vitamins

Knowing your antioxidant score is as important as knowing your blood pressure. I don’t know why we haven’t been told this before. The video below is from the Dr. Oz (you won’t believe his score) show about cancer prevention and antioxidants. It’s amazing to see how the average American scores.

Our Passion for Pearly Whites…Oral Health is So Important

If you were born in 1965 or later odds are you wore braces. With Americans growing obsession with physical appearance, braces have practically become a rite of passage in your teens. My sister wore braces in the 1970’s, my brother wore braces in the 1980’s, and my children and all their friends wore braces in the 2000’s. Teeth whitening has gone “laser”, like Dr. Evil, for permanent “pearly whites”. All this is great but what about true dental health? Where does that fit into this pretty picture? How many of us really know how to properly clean our teeth or what products are the best.

I just returned from my regularly scheduled dental cleaning appointment and I had the best report I’ve had in 10 years. Three years ago I had to have gum surgery which was the most painful thing that has EVER happened to me. Due to this awful experience I have tried all the toothpastes and cleaning devices suggested by my dentist and oral surgeon. Then one of my associates told me she had the best results with the  oral care products and she had been fighting having to have gum surgery herself. I immediately began using the products my friend had results with. Today my hygienist was super ecstatic about how healthy my gums are now and how little plaque I had on my teeth. When I was finished, I bounced out of the dentist’s office feeling 25 years old again!  Click here to see the image of the products I use on my facebook page.

Let’s face it, if you are missing teeth, have a yellow plaque build up on your teeth, have bad breath, or have a red-puffy gum line that does not look good; no matter how straight your teeth are. Use quality products, as directed and FLOSS!

Health Tip: Flossing Facts
It is surprising that only 12% of the population of a well developed country such as the United States of America floss their teeth daily. Even more surprising is the fact that hardly anyone is aware of the necessity of flossing. Some are rather incorrectly inclined to believe that regular brushing is enough to keep their tooth healthy. Let me try enlightening you on the necessity of flossing for good oral hygiene.
• Brushing sans flossing is comparable to cleaning only 65% of your body leaving the 35% dirty which simply means you are not completely clean.
• Flossing removes the tiny trapped food particles and also the plaque trapped between the teeth which a tooth brush cannot reach.
• It also prevents the formation of calculus or tartar which if formed can only be removed by your dentist.
• Recent studies have indicated flossing reduces the risk of heart attack. Hard to believe? Well, this is attributed to the close relation between gum disease and heart attack. The gum disease is prevented by regular flossing which decreases the risk for heart attack.

Vitality…Have you lost yours?

It is almost mid January and I am finally getting over the hectic holiday schedule and back to a normal schedule again. I absolutely love the holidays and all that they bring by getting together with friends and family. I also love getting back to work. As I was talking with a friend yesterday she was telling me how tired she still was feeling. I am sure she is not the only person feeling tired or why else would energy drinks be so popular. I worry about people who drink those energy drinks without considering the ingredients and what the long term effect of those ingredients could have on their bodies.

We know that as we age, our bodies’ ability to effectively generate and utilize energy can decline, robbing us of youthful vitality. The definition of “vitality” is “exuberant physical strength or mental vigor.” Studies show 85% of consumers are concerned about their energy and stamina levels, 40% of 30 – 60 year olds experience a decline in their ability to concentrate, 66% of women and 37% of men experience a decline in sexual desire as they age.

Scientists have created a revolutionary approach with a transformational dietary supplement,  Vitality. It’s not designed to provide a quick fix or boost. Instead it is formulated to raise and maintain a person’s baseline energy level resulting in an increase in overall vitality and sense of well being. No caffeine crashes or crazy highs!

PERSONAL STORY: I started taking Vitality over a year ago. My energy level has improved significantly and I maintain that energy all day. I have been able to exercise 5 -6 days a week now. Before I could really only manage to workout about 3 days a week. And those workouts! Wow, I have really been able to increase my strength and endurance. I now sleep 7 to 8 hours a night where I used to need 9 – 10 hours. I really feel refreshed when I wake up too. Then there is just a general feeling of wellness I enjoy. For me, as a person living with MS and energy was an issue, Vitality has helped enhance my quality of life.

Vitality improves the three dimensions of vitality—physical vigor, mental acuity, and sexual health. This will help you feel more like you did when you were young. For testimonials visit: here. The Company believes in this product to the point they guarantee you will feel the difference in 3 months or you will get your money back. And remember, contact me for preferred pricing. 

Health Tip: Make Plenty of “ zzz’s” A Goal for 2012

Most Americans do not get enough sleep. One of the best ways to maintain your youth is by starting with plenty of sleep. Everyone is different in the number of hours they need to sleep each day but approximately 8 hours is a good goal. Your sleep has to be long enough to get to the time when your body repairs and regenerates itself. Like food and water, sleep is essential. Lack of sleep can adversely affect hormones, weight gain and more. Sleep deprivation is actually used as “soft torture” and no sleep over time can result in death. A New Year, A “Nu” You

Happy New Year!!!! Have you written any resolutions for the New Year? Several of my friends are committing to losing weight through improved diets and adding exercise this year. Personally, I am back on track with my pre-holiday diet consisting of small meals and snacks of veggies, a handful of nuts and fresh fruit 5 or 6 times a day. Every night I drink 2 tablespoons of unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. Combined with 3 to 4 days of fairly strenuous weights and conditioning exercise, this system has worked really well for me. I lost 13 pounds before the holidays following this regimen. Now, I never stopped drinking my apple cider at night but my meals became irregular in size and time. Snacks were gone all together or consisted of holiday cookies and yummy, high calorie, holiday snacks. I expected my skinny jeans to get a little tighter. But, what I did not expect was to feel so tired between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Now, I only gained about 5 pounds and I was still mourning the loss of my grandmother, but I felt about 20 years older!!!! That just goes to show how diet directly affects physical energy.

Here is an interesting fact I got on Monday, January 2nd, from a local gym: “60-percent of all new health club memberships come in January and February and as many as 50 people joined one local gym on January 2nd”. How many of these new members remain throughout the year? About 50-percent of them continue their journey to better health through exercise or at least they think they will so they don’t cancel their membership. Gyms get their money whether people go or not so my advice is find an accountability partner. For me, I have to schedule an appointment to exercise with someone. It ensures I make it to the gym even when I might be tired. I’m always glad because I feel better afterwards.

Health Tip: Steroids: Side Effects Not Worth It!

Often referred to colloquially as just “steroids”, Anabolic steroids are synthetic hormones similar to the male hormone testosterone. While there are many types of anabolic steroids – each with their own effects – anabolic steroids generally stimulate muscle growth and tissue regeneration, and amongst their many uses they can be used to build size, strength, and explosive power. However, used improperly they can also carry a number of harmful short and long-term side effects. Two common steroids used to gain muscle strength and reduce body fat are Dianabol and Winstrol. See below for a list of their individual side effects.

Dianabol Side Effects

Strain On Liver
As a 17-aa steroid, Dianabol can cause liver damage if high doses are taken over an extended period of time.
Gynecomastia
Because Dianabol converts quite easily into Estrogen, another potential side effect of the drug is the condition known as Gynecomastia. Gynecomastia is when males develop mammary glands and grow female breasts due to various reasons related to hormonal imbalances.
Fluid Retention
Also related to Dianabol’s tendency to convert to estrogen is the Dianabol side effect of increased fluid retention as well as fat storage.
Winstrol Side Effects
Liver Toxicity
Like Dbol, Winstrol is a 17aa compound, which allows it to be taken orally, but also renders it toxic to the liver. Winstrol is quite hepatoxic, thus it’s extremely important to limit its use and avoid abuse.
Negative Effects On Cholesterol Levels
Tests have shown that Winstrol may have results on Cholesterol that are less than desirable, including lowering HDL (good) cholesterol while increasing LDL (bad) cholesterol.
Effects On Joints and Connective Tissue
Winstrol has been said to cause joints to feel less lubricated, likely due to its negative effect on fluid retention
This is just a small list of the negative side effects from only (2) of the anabolic steroids available. It certainly makes it understandable as to why professional sports ban their usage. These listed side effects make me wonder about other drugs used to enhance physical performance and/or physical appearance. Stick to reducing the number of caloric intake and make them the most nutritious calories you possible can for the sake of your health and beauty.
